What is Yürüçek and when was it founded?

Yürüçek is a nature sports and photography club founded in Adana in 2014. Our community, which organizes hiking, camping, summit climbing and photography events, has now reached over 500 active members.

Is membership paid?

No, membership to our club is completely free. You only pay the event fee (transportation, vehicle rental, etc.) for the events you participate in. Membership registration is done through our website.

Who can join? Is there an age limit?

Anyone aged 16 and over can join our daily nature walks. Participants between 16-18 years old must bring a parental consent form. The age requirement for overnight events is 18.

How often are events organized?

We organize 2-4 events per month depending on weather conditions. Event frequency increases in spring and autumn. You can follow all events from the event calendar on our website.

How can I register for events?

After logging in on our website, go to the detail page of the event you are interested in and click the 'Apply' button. You will be notified by email when your application is approved. We recommend registering before the quota is full.

What do event fees cover?

The event fee generally covers vehicle rental and fuel costs. For camping events, the campsite fee may also be included. What the fee covers is clearly stated on each event's detail page.

What happens if an event is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled due to weather conditions or unexpected circumstances, all registered participants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and the paid fee will be refunded or transferred to another event.

How are event difficulty levels determined?

Our events are organized in 3 difficulty levels: Easy, Medium and Hard. Easy events cover flat and short trails, Medium events cover 5-10 km walks, and Hard events cover long-distance and high-altitude trails.

What equipment is mandatory?

Mandatory equipment for all events: ankle-high hiking boots, layered clothing suitable for the season, backpack (20-30L), at least 1.5 liters of water, high-calorie snacks, sunscreen and hat. Additional requirements are stated on the event detail page.

Is there equipment rental available?

We currently do not have an equipment rental service. However, you can get discounted equipment from outdoor stores among Yürüçek Friends. You can check the 'Yürüçek Friends' section on your profile page for details.

What should I bring for camping events?

For camping events additionally: sleeping bag (season appropriate), camping mat or inflatable mattress, personal hygiene items, headlamp (with spare batteries), garbage bag (to keep nature clean) and your personal medications.

What do I need to do to become a member?

Click the 'Login / Register' button in the top right corner of our website and fill out the registration form. After entering your name, surname, email and password, your account will be immediately active. You can complete your information from your profile page.

Why do I need to fill in my profile information?

Accepted Answer

The information form (ID number, blood type, health information) is mandatory for event safety. This information is stored securely for use in emergencies and is not shared with third parties. Applications for events cannot be made without completing the information.

What should I do to become a team leader?

You can fill out the 'Team Leadership Application' section from the 'Info Form' tab on your profile page. Your application will be reviewed by our management team. Having leadership experience, a first aid certificate and outdoor equipment strengthens your application.

What is YuruPoints and how do I earn them?

YuruPoints is Yürüçek's loyalty system. You earn 50 YP when you become a member, dynamic points for each event you attend, and 10 YP when you share photos/videos. You can exchange your accumulated points from the YP Market for discount coupons, free trips or Yürüçek products.

When do my points reset?

YuruPoints are automatically reset twice a year, on January 1 and July 1. The validity period of your points is 6 months. We recommend using them before they reset.

How is safety ensured at events?

All our events are carried out with experienced and certified team leaders. Our leaders have received first aid training. Communication tools and first aid kits are available on difficult trails. If weather conditions are unfavorable, the event is postponed or cancelled.

Can I participate if I have a health condition?

Members with chronic conditions or regular medication use should inform our leader before the event. You can add your health information to the information form on your profile page. For serious heart, lung or mobility limitations, doctor approval is recommended.

What should I do if I get lost during an event?

Accepted Answer

At the beginning of the event, your leader will share the emergency contact number. If you get separated from the group: stop, look around calmly, call your leader with your phone. If there's no signal, go to a high point and make noise. For this reason, never move alone during events.
